When Desktop icons go missing use the directions listed below.

1. Right click on the desktop
2. Hover over "View" to view a small list of desktop icon settings
3. Click on the option "Show Desktop Icons". All icons missing should return
4. If the icons you are looking for are not there. Create a ticket and we can troubleshoot the issue. 
5. Try this - right click desktop and then view -> show desktop icons.
